If you work with more or less modern styles you most likely apply aggressive lo-cut filter on OH mics on mixing stage. I will need to move the stereo image around for that, probably even more so.) A have a bigger application with the racktoms - my kit only has a single slot for racktoms, so to get more, I'm duplicating the existing tom and tuning it accordingly. (Also, in case anyone is asking "why are you worrying about this for the kick drum - you'll barely notice such a small difference?" fair question! I'm using this mostly as an example as it's easy to describe/illustrate. Am I missing any other obvious drawbacks and/or alternatives for handling this? I understand that this will (slightly) reduce the stereo width, but since this is a drum hit transient, I'm not so worried about that.

If you're not familiar, SD3 lets you change the panning of the L and R signals of a stereo track separately: I am comfortable with configuring the mic routing to individually tweak the signals from different instruments, but wondering what the best way to nudge this sample to the center is? As an example, here's the kick drum in the overheads: I'm making some tweaks to my custom kit in Superior Drummer 3 and realizing that some of the samples, especially in the overheads, are not where I want them in the stereo image.
